Seeds, the legacy of the land (Mexico 2021)
In Mexico, maize seeds have been passed down from generation to generation. Inspired by their ancestors’ knowledge, Ramón and Camilo preserve different maize seed varieties in the hope that when they die, there is someone that will continue their legacy.

Nuevo horizonte (Ecuador-Guatemala 2017)
After signing a peace agreement with the Guatemalan government, a group of demobilized ex-combatants established an agricultural cooperative as the next stage of their struggle. With only a video camera and a set of photo collections that the ex-combatants kept to delve into their memories, I visited this community as a visual anthropologist to explore how its members’ past struggles remain alive today.

The Patronas´ kitchen (Mexico 2016)
The Patronas' Kitchen tells the story of Las Patronas, women in La Patrona, Veracruz, who began feeding migrants on freight trains 23 years ago. It started when Doña Leo’s daughters gave food to a hungry traveler, inspired by her words: "When people are hungry, you have to give." Since then, they’ve cooked daily for migrants. Their kitchen has become a political space, addressing rural poverty, human rights, society's indifference to migrants, and women's rights.

A group of Central American migrants arrives in Guadalajara on their way to the northern border. Ángel, Hernán, Paola, and El Negro share that their journey has lasted over seven months; migrating has become their way of life. Just One Day invites us to witness their long hours of waiting, reflect on the joy of childhood, and confront the reality of those often overlooked by society. Just one day—one of many that have passed and many yet to come. Only one day, only a few hours.
